Punxsutawney Phil, our Pennsylvania groundhog predicted an early spring, so I am doing OK.
The winter months can be brutal. Freezing temperatures, grey skies, and snow storms that cause havoc on the roads doesn't exactly say "fun, fun, fun". A friend sent me this video and it gave me a whole new perspective on making the most of the situation. It has been around for a few years and you possibly have seen it, but it is worth one more look. It is guaranteed to make you smile.

However, I don't think that me rolling down a hill of snow would look as graceful and it might involve a few major injuries.
Hello Arleen:
ReplyDeleteWe have so enjoyed watching the video which we have not in fact seen before. How extraordinary it is, and those dogs are loving every minute!
Sadly, at least for us although not, we appreciate for others, our snow has completely gone from the City and whilst we are threatened with more, so far it has failed to materialise.
One of the pleasures of living in the city like you do is to have less snow.
DeleteI do love looking at the snow, I just no longer enjoy being out in it. However, watching children and dogs having fun in it is a wonderful sight.
Hey Arleen! Never saw that before! Now I really wanna go up to Sugarbush and slide around with those doggies! Lay down and slide? Yeah, I can do that. ;)
ReplyDeleteWe have one large pile of grayish-brown waterstone across the way; all the snow has been melting between the high temps last week and the rain that washed so much away. I don't believe the rodents... there're still 2 months to go.
We are getting snow showers every night for the past five days with more predicted. They never amount to much though but have caused some accidents on the roads.
DeleteOh my goodness...what carefree happiness.
ReplyDeleteDogs have the life, don't they.
DeleteLoved this video. They're having so much fun.
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed it, Molly.
DeleteDear Arleen, thanks so much for the video! I'd never seen it before and found myself sitting here at the computer grinning broadly at the antics of those two dogs. What a life! Peace.
ReplyDeleteIt is hard not to smile every time I watch it.
DeleteI wonder how many times they went up & down that hill?! I will now watch it again.
ReplyDeleteImagine having dogs with so much energy.
DeleteI'd heard of dogsleds but had no idea they were made of real dogs.
ReplyDeleteYep, they are.
DeleteI always love the way dogs push their shoulders into the snow....
ReplyDeleteIf only I could be so agile.
DeleteWe can learn something from those dogs. Here is a post from Laurie at 111LaLaLane along the same theme.http://111lalalane.blogspot.ca/2013/01/slip-sliding-awayan-upstate-adventure.html
ReplyDeleteOh, Arleen! I forgot to write that I am mentioning your blog in my post tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Susan. That is so kind of you.
DeleteWhen we had our recent snow, the local girlies came round to borrow our two dogs to pull their sled. Everyone had a wonderful time.
ReplyDeleteWonderful - really enjoyed that. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteIt's been a while since I saw that video, but I enjoyed it as much this time as I did the first time I saw it. You're right; it's guaranteed to make ya smile. Now, I wish I had a dog again. You can keep the snow, though.
ReplyDeleteSo cute! We've had a very mild winter down here. It's been beautiful, in fact. I count my blessings
ReplyDeleteSilly mutts, I was giggling like mad.
ReplyDeleteI just adore dogs and can never have enough of videos showing them at their silliest and most adorable.
Very cute video. I have a video where I'm falling off of the chair lift while everyone skis
ReplyDeletepast me. Not so cute.
Julie
When we lived in Chicago our dogs (we had 3) loved the snow. One would run along with his mouth skimming along the top of the snow, one would bury his face digging down and the third just loved to run in it. But we lived in flat, flat, flat Illinois without even a small hill anywhere in sight, so they never had the opportunity to "body ski"....they would have LOVED it!!
ReplyDeleteWouldn't be nice if we could all just turn into snow dogs every winter? Screw this human stuff.
ReplyDeleteThat video was well cute. Slip, sliding away, complete with some Reggae music. Which then made me think of a Jamaican bobsleigh team using a bunch of dogs :)
ReplyDeletePunxsutawney Phil is evidently going to be featured in a sequel to Groundhog Day....

oh I wish I could have 'seen' that video, my computer is on it's last legs and lots of applications aren't working now, including watching video clips
ReplyDeleteI love your picture of snow on the tree branches by the way, very atmospheric.
Very cute video! I had never seen it before. Looks like a fun way to come down the mountain. We don't get snow here but every once in a while we drive somewhere just to play in the snow!
ReplyDeleteLol! Dogs always have the best attitudes. :-) So good.
ReplyDeleteIt’s a joy to watch these dogs! By the way your Punxsutawney Phil is often wrong – but our General Beauregard Lee had predicted the opposite of Phil – we’ll see who is right!
ReplyDeleteFun video, nice music and I always love seeing how dogs are so good at having fun! thanks for posting this.
