Crying Uncle

I am doing OK, but poor Miss Circle has had it.

Miss T and Vanna aren't doing much better.

And Marilyn is just pissed.

They say Spring is just around the corner, so girls and boys, and cats and dogs, we all have to buckle up and
we gotta Believe!

Lies the seed, that with the sun's love, in the spring becomes a rose."

    1. It was hard to have faith today when I woke up and everything was cover with ice, however, it will eventually melt.

  3. Marilyn does like a trife peeved. The others? More than comfortable.

    1. Yes, Marilyn does have an attitude. The others just like to take in the sun whenever possible.

  4. That was a most effective pep-talk. I feel better now.

    1. Good, Geo. However, you don't need any pepping up as you had summer this winter. California is seldom with the rest of the country, or for matter, the world. It is a unique place and I am jealous of your warm days.

  6. It won't be long now. Meanwhile I have brought forsythia twigs inside and they have burst into bloom.

    1. Susan, our twigs are encrusted with ice now, but maybe in a few weeks they will thaw out.

  8. I would never want to get on Marilyn's bad side. I'm sure she's chased many big dogs away! Beautiful cats, and Marilyn's a true femme fatale!

    1. I think that she is a relative of Grunpy Cat. However, she is a sweetie.

  11. We have flower buds on the Peach trees, tiny leaves on the Elderberry bushes, and signs of life under the Rhubarb forcing pots.... It won't be long.

    1. My bushes and trees were covered with ice on Sunday, and now we are expecting more sleet and ice today, followed by snow on Thursday. March, so far, has not been kind. I am glad, though, that some places are experiencing the month as it should be.

  12. Spring is on its way in eastern Oregon. Trees are budding and our bulbs are all up about six inches. The spouse even mowed the lawn last weekend. It is still quite cold at night though. Love the picture of Marilyn.

  13. Cats always feel hard-done-by.
And this winter they certainly are.

    1. For feral cats, they live a good life. They are well taken care at all times.

  14. Dear Arleen, oh what joy to return to reading blogs after being away for over three months and discover you photographs of pissed and disgruntled felines, eager for spring.

Have you ever heard Mary O'Hara sing "The Rose"? She is retired now and may have died but during the latter half of the 20th century she recorded many Irish songs and many other evocative melodies. Her voice pins me to the moment. Peace.

    1. Dear Dee,
So good to see you back on Blogger. So many of us were concerned about you and I do hope that you are feeling better now. If I thought that posting pictures of my outside feral cats would have brought you back, I would have done it sooner. It is just lovely seeing your name again in my comments, dear friend.

  15. That header picture at the top is stunning. The feeling about winter is the same here. We can't complain where we live tho. We've had extreme cold snaps where it was below zero, but our snowfall is way behind other years I think we all want to be like little birds and spread our wings to fly away.

    1. Our snow level is below normal also, however, an inch or two seems to come a couple of times a week lately. We shovel often, but not very much at a time. However, they are predicting a big storm on Thursday, but they have been wrong about most of them so far and I am hoping that will continue.

The good thing for people in the northeast of the US is that they won't have to worry about a drought this summer.

  16. I so love that song and the rose above is exquisite. With each storm, my sister says, "Eh, what's another 6 inches. We'll see the grass eventually."

  17. Your sister has the right attitude, Susan. We keep getting 2" every two days. It haven't amounted to much, but it is like water torture, drip, drip, drip.

  18. Oh dear, cats hate being cold!!!

  19. It was eight below at the bus stop this morning.

It will be 52 on Tuesday.

  20. Miss Circle looks pretty happy to me, I guess it's being protected by all that fluff and fur. Though the fuzziness doesn't seem to be helping Marilyn. That is a very scary face! :O

  21. On Wednesday, it was 78 degrees here. Seventy-eight! Almost eighty degrees. Glorious. This morning, mother nature let us know in no uncertain terms that she is still in charge. We woke up to a dusting of snow! Sheesh. It's gone now, and the temps are supposed to be going back up into the sixties in the next couple days. (Personally, I think ol' Mother Nature has been hitting the sacramental wine...)

Love your header picture, and your kitties, too. Happy weekend!

    1. 78 degrees is too hot for March, 70 would be OK. Next week we are supposed to get mid 50's and possible 60's. I am giddy with the thought. I might even buy some pansies.

The header picture is a 12 day old (in my house) rose. Age was kind to it.

  22. Love the quote from "The Rose." It was above freezing today and that was gift enough for one day. Forty tomorrow and I am a happy girl.
