Rude Awakening

Brrr, but I am doing OK.

I jumped slowly limped out of bed this morning to the feeling of a cold, cold floor.  What the....!  Wasn't it 90 degrees about a week or so ago?  I put on my woolly socks, flipped on the switch to the fireplace, wrapped myself up in a blanket and contemplated what was ahead.

The future

Too soon, too soon!

  4. Hello Arleen:
Gosh, Winter seems to have arrived without Autumn even showing its face. In Budapest we are still walking around with few clothes on ....but this post is a reminder of -15C to come and come it will!!

    1. That picture was from last year. No frost on the pumpkin yet, but the cool air is a reminder of things to come.

    1. I live in south-east PA. It was in the mid-fifties when I woke up this morning but now it has warmed up to the mid-seventies. They say it is going to keep climbing the rest of the week so summer has not really left us. That really cool air this A.M. was a shock to my system.

  6. Dear Arleen, It is still in the high 80s/low 90s here in the south. I can only dream of a chilly morning. The playground is much more tolerable when there is a chill in the area....at least somewhere between 78 and 68. Bonnie

  7. Dear Arleen, here, too, we are enjoying cooler mornings although the temperatures get up to the low 90s in the late afternoon. But ah that coolness does remind us that fall and then winter are coming. For myself, I really like winter. Peace.

  8. Oh, the wool socks. That's what I need. It will be flannel and the goose on my bed by this weekend.

  10. Just think, in no time, we'll be nostalgic for those sweltering summer days. (NOT!) I'm more than ready to feel a crisp coolness in the air. No telling when Mother Nature might deliver around these parts, though.

  11. They are turning far too fast on this side of the world as well. Spring is fine(ish). Summer? Not.

  12. I love this time of year when it cools down a little and the slipper socks come out, but I sure don't enjoy what comes after it. *sob*

  13. I am in agreement. Why is it summer during the day and full fledged Autumn at night? Why don't we get a couple of weeks of "Sumnum" when things gradually change over?

  14. The weather in Florida has actually dropped to a comfortable temperature instead of blistering heat. Perfect!

  15. Sheesh! Pretty early for that. Don't send it to my area.

  16. It was pretty fripply here the last 2 mornings. I even closed my bedroom window. But today was warm and it's going back up into the 80s-60s daylong range again, they say. It'll be another couple of months before the windows get shut for the Winter... but it's good sleeping weather!

  17. Glad it reached the 70's later. Hopefully, it has been cooling off a lot at night, creating perfect sleeping weather. Julie
