Trying To Keep Up

Dancing as fast as I can, and I am sort of doing OK

Dealing with the torment of Sandy, spending time with my granddaughters ( my pleasure), dealing with my volunteer job, dealing with life, and I have gotten behind.  It has been a difficult week and I am sorry that I could not keep up with everyone, but life interrupted.  I will resume what is normal for me next week.  Maybe!

I am doing my best, just was not prepared for it all. However, we escaped the worst of Sandy and it breaks my heart seeing the the horrors that other people are going through.    It lets you know how small your problems are. They are telling us now that another storm is coming our way.  Not fair, we did not have a chance to breathe.

I have never liked November.

  1. Don't worry about keeping up. One of the gifts of retirement is that there's always another day to accomplish what wasn't done today.

  2. We have, of course, been reading about the dreadful ravage of Sandy. Lets hope the worst of it is now gone. Stay safe!

  3. The enormity of those giant storms is hard for me to imagine. We may not have the planet's best weather in South-East England but we don't get Hurricanes, Tornados, Earthquakes or very much snow!

  5. Hello Arleen:
From time to time real life does take over from the Blogosphere and that is, we feel, no bad thing. That you have had so much to put up with in recent days, not least Hurricane Sandy, must have left you feeling more than a little shattered. We are so very sorry and do hope that things will start to improve from now onwards and that the threat of another storm will come to nothing.

  7. No worries, Arleen. As EC said, we'll be here when you get back. And everything crossed that #2 doesn't happen.

  10. Arleen, I think we're all breathing a sigh of relief to know that you're safe. I hope the second storm does not come to anything. Those poor people in Haiti - may they get help and supplies and get them quickly

  11. Another storm coming? Uh-oh.
I'm so happy to hear you're okay. I hope this new storm just passes you by and keeps going. :-)

  12. Glad Sandy didn't cause you too much grief. On the bright side, November may not be your favorite month, but at least it only has thirty days. Take care, and here's hoping the next storm turns out to be nothing.

  13. Dear Arleen, remember back in the 1980s when we were told by the president that if ever there were a nuclear attack on the United States the mail would still be delivered? What we've learned in the past few years from the natural disasters around the globe is just how long a time passes before life is "normal" again. Peace.

  15. It is heartbreaking reading about Sandy and now more storms. I hope the new storms do not cause any further deaths.

  16. So many people and so much destruction. I am relieved that you escaped the worst of it. November--the best thing about that month is Veteran's Day and pumpkin pie, and my gr-daughter's birthday.
