The Sun WIll Come Out Tomorrow - They Say

Constantly  raining  but I'm doing OK, although my hair isn't.

Throw me a line.

                                    by Robert Louis Stevenson

The rain is falling all around,
It falls on field and tree,
It rains on the umbrellas here,
And on the ships at sea

"Splash," said a raindrop
As it fell upon my hat;
"Splash" said another
as it trickled down my back.
"You are very rude," I said
As I looked up to the sky;
Then another raindrop splashed
Right into my eye.

Rain, Rain Go Away

By Mother Goose

Rain, Rain, go away,
Come again some other day,
Little Johnny wants to play

Rain, rain, go to Spain
Never show your face again.

It's Raining, It's Pouring

It's raining, it's pouring,
The old man is snoring.
He went to bed with a broken head,
And couldn't get up in the morning.

Not exactly highbrow poetry, but my brain is waterlogged.

Two months of drenching rain on the north-east coast.  We are floating away.  Looking for someone with ship-building skills.

  1. Never thought I'd be sick of rain, but I am. Maybe all this rain will mean a light winter. One can hope...

  2. Sat and Sun were rain. This morning was rain. This afternoon was glorious. Tues, Wed and Thurs speak for rain. I know what you mean! But I shall just imagine a beautiful weekend.

Thanks for the song. One of my favorites.

  3. We haven't had rain for forever. If only everything could be equalled out among all of us. What a perfect world we would have. Here's wishing sunny days ahead! Bonnie

  4. I do hope you get some fine weather soon. I forgot to mention that I really enjoyed your email from the Queen.

  5. Hello Arleen,
How extraordinary the weather has become. For you nothing but ceaseless rain, whilst here we continue to enjoy unbroken skies and temperatures well above the average for the season.

  6. Rainy days can be so dismal. Hope the sun shines again for you soon.

  7. The sky is overcast, the air is humid, and I think I hear thunder. Oh, I hope so. We are desperate for rain.

  8. We could sure use some of that rain down here. We're officially in "extreme drought", and so far, no rain in sight. If I could send you some of this gorgeous sunshine, I would.

  9. Susan K and Susan FS and Bonnie- We have had "very few" days without rain since August. We have brief periods of sun on occassional days, then the black clouds come by. Sounds like we are all having "extremes".

MBJ - dismal days = dismal dispostions. My hubby is ready to buy me one of those mood altering lamps. One more week of this, he may have to buy me a dozen.

Jane and Lance - I am glad you have had bright sunny days. I will look forward to your posts when you return mid-month. We will all miss you.

Austan - If anybody knows how I feel, you do. However, your circumstances have been much more difficult up there in Vermont than here in PA. So glad this time is coming to an end for you and soon you will be back home surrounded by your familiar places and things.

Susan Heather - I am hoping that you have a beautiful, glorious spring. Glad you liked The Queen.

Sandy - You are always surrounded by sunshine. I can see that in your pictures

  10. 'Tomorrow. Tomorrow, I love ya tomorrow ...... Arleen you've got me at it now. I hope you get lots of sunshine tomorrow. Thanks so much for your sweet comment on my blog ...... 'I can see clearly now the rain has gone ......' Love Molly xxxx

  11. I hate to tell you....our weather is probably so perfect right now it's amazing...all this week right until next Monday they are saying sunshine and around 75 to 80 degrees...unheard of for us...we should of left the pool open..HA!!!

  12. Catch! I just sent you a line.....

Oh and I love the "splash" poem.

  13. It's the exact opposite in my area. It hasn't rained for quite a while now. And while I don't wish for a long stretch of rain to end the semi-drought, I do want just a little of those fall storms.

  14. Dear New Commentator, Thanks for visiting my blog--coming home to myself--and posting such a lovely, complimentary comment. I appreciate your taking time to do that.

Now I've visited your site and want to thank you for sharing your rain-day poems with us. I'm a real fan of poetry.

Like Susan, I wish you could send some rain our way here in Missouri.
